I've always been a writer, first and foremost. I started going to smaller literary-based SFF conventions in hopes of making publishing connections. And there I discovered Costuming. And it was .... well, to a narcissist like me, it was crack.

I first did the Harley Quinn costume in 2002, for ConQuest in Kansas City. Cosplay was still in its infancy and there were very few patterns for sewing spandex, so I made my own. Once the pictures hit the internet strangers from all over the world began emailing, begging me to make them costumes. I got sidetracked into custom costume-making for about seven years. It is a colorful, challenging, backbreaking, ultimately thankless gig, worse than writing, even, because when I'm writing I do it for myself.

I no longer sew for other people. These pages are here only for historical reference.
